Jobs & Pay Equity

Some Progress

The government made real progress by enshrining pay equity in law. More is still needed to ensure women everywhere in Canada have access to decent work and living wages.

The gender wage gap in Canada has not decreased in decades. Women earn 32% less than men on average, and as much as 45 to 55% less for Indigenous women, immigrant women and women with disabilities.
