Women around the world disproportionately experience poverty and discrimination, and political backlash threatens hard-won gains. Canada has shown global leadership through its Feminist International Assistance Policy and has made significant commitments to advancing gender equality, investing in sexual and reproductive health and rights, and funding feminist and women’s rights organizations and movements. Given the state of our world, this leadership is crucial, but the resources required to deliver on the ambition of this policy must not be underestimated. Canada’s aid investments continue to be significantly lower than some of its global peers.
