SEE HUNGER IN A WHOLE NEW WAY

If you’ve never known what it feels like to go to bed hungry, this experience will change your life.

Join a movement, thousands of Canadians strong, as we bring to life the inequalities in our world.

As a reflection of this reality, few attendees leave this powerful event with full stomachs, but all leave with a greater understanding of inequality and hunger, and the motivation to do something about it.

How do Oxfam’s Hunger Banquets work?
When guests arrive at the event, they draw tickets at random, which assign each person to a high, middle, or low income group. The luck of the draw will determine your experience for the remainder of the evening.

What will you walk away with?
Hunger Banquet attendees leave feeling hungry, moved, and with a newfound perspective on the injustice of inequality. It’s an easy yet meaningful way to take action as we increase our power to respond to global crises, raise awareness, and change the unjust laws that keep people trapped in poverty.

Having an experience like this really helps to put you in the shoes of these people and makes you realize the seriousness and immediacy of the problems that are actually happening.
