Youth and Inequality: Time to support youth as agents of their own future

by Oxfam Canada | August 12, 2016

Released to mark International Youth Day and as the World Social Forum gets underway, the report, ‘Youth and Inequality: Time to support youth as agents of their own future’, also shows how young people, especially young women, are suffering from rising inequality across the world.

Young women and men today must grapple with serious social, political and environmental problems inherited from generations before them. Yet they are systematically excluded from policy decisions, even though young people make up one quarter of humanity.

By marshaling the energy, creativity and talents of youth to address the multiple inequalities they face, we will all reap a ‘demographic dividend’ and build a fairer world.
