Inequality is not just about the gap between the rich and the poor. It is about the super-rich pulling away from the rest of us. Decades of tax cuts for the richest and corporations have fueled wealth disparities, with the poorest people in many countries paying higher tax rates than billionaires.

Over the past several years, we have witnessed deepening inequality worldwide due to the ongoing pandemic, the climate crisis and, most recently, a skyrocketing cost of living.
