Oxfam Canada’s submission for Federal Budget 2026 calls on Canada to respond to growing global and domestic challenges through stronger global leadership, a more just and sustainable economy, and greater investment in social protection.

The submission calls for Canada to take a greater global leadership role by supporting action on global inequality, contributing to the rebuilding of Gaza, and protecting key investments in global gender equality. It also calls for a more equitable economy in Canada through progressive taxation of extreme wealth and corporate profits, alongside greater recognition and investment in the care economy.

To strengthen economic resilience and social protection in Canada, Oxfam Canada recommends expanding access and equity in the $10-a-day child care system, modernizing Employment Insurance, and providing sustained funding for women’s rights and gender equality organizations. Together, the submission puts forward 11 recommendations for Federal Budget 2026.
