Oxfam in Guatemala
Oxfam in Guatemala works to help indigenous women and other communities living in poverty to become organized, to participate actively, and have greater access to power and recognition, as well as enjoying a fair distribution of existing resources.
Oxfam tries to support people in Guatemala with:
- Gender justice
- Land and the rural economy
- Adapting to climate change, preparation and response to emergencies
- Building the Foundations for Sustainability
Catalina is one of 30 women in her community who has been trained as a promoter of organic, sustainable agriculture. After four years she's seeing the fruits of her labour, with a bigger and more diverse harvest. And she's committed to training eight more women—with equally promising prospects.
- Tapping history to rebuild the future
- Promoting Women’s Health
Oxfam partner, AMES, works on women's reproductive and sexual rights, health, violence against women and labour rights.
