This holiday season, show you “give a flock” with Oxfam Unwrapped

This holiday season, show you “give a flock” with Oxfam Unwrapped

December 8, 2010

This year, Oxfam Canada makes shopping Unwrapped even easier – gift cards are now available at Shopper’s Drug Mart locations across Canada, excluding Ontario and Quebec.

The kids on your list are sure to appreciate a couple of goat kids. And the best part is, your goat’s first female kid will go to another family. It’s a gift that truly keeps on giving – no kidding!

Since its inception in 2006, Oxfam Unwrapped has raised $2.5 million for Oxfam Canada’s overseas programming, supporting projects in Ethiopia, Nicaragua and Guatemala.

Last year, Canadians purchased:
1,889 goats
2,131 chickens
684 gifts of “putting girls in school”
850 gifts of safe water
853 sheep
538 gifts that plant 50 trees each.

So head to, pick up a Gift of Peace, sow the seeds of an organic garden or maybe ring up a couple chickens, a donkey and an emergency kit or two.
