Happy International Women’s Day

March 8, 2012

Female Food Heroes are women who are working to build a movement for good food – food that is grown well and shared fairly.

Female Food Heroes are women throughout the global south who are claiming their rights and the resources they need to grow enough food in an ecologically-sound way to feed themselves, their families and their communities – for now and in the future.

Canadians can bring about positive changes in the food system.

From now until World Food Day 2012, Oxfam will be sharing the stories of Female Food Heroes from across Canada and around the world. We want to recognize and celebrate the important role women play as food producers and advocates for a better food system.

Let's support and encourage women who are raising their voices as instruments of change and working to make our food system more just and more sustainable. We want to share their stories.

Recognize and celebrate your Female Food Hero with Oxfam!
If you know a Female Food Hero, tell us more about her and share her story.
