Corporate Matching Gifts


One of the easiest ways to support Oxfam and to let your employees know that their commitment and values are shared by their employer is to match your employees’ contributions – whether it is double, all, or a percentage of the donations contributed by your employees.

For companies

Many companies will match personal gifts including cash, stocks, marketable securities, funds raised for Oxfam events such as Trailwalker, and the value of employee volunteer time. Companies may also match gifts from employee spouses, retirees, and board members.  By matching your employee contributions to Oxfam, employees will be confident that their donations are going even further to reduce poverty.

 

For employees

Companies have various methods for matching gift request submissions, including online forms and paper forms that you submit to Oxfam Canada. Many companies will match personal gifts, such as cash, stocks, marketable securities, and the value of your volunteer time. Companies may also match gifts from employee spouses, retirees, and board members.

Here's how to take part:

  1. Consult this list, to see if your workplace matches employee donations. If your company does not currently match employee donations, suggest they consider doing so.
     
  2. Obtain a Matching Gift form and review the program guidelines to ensure that Oxfam Canada is eligible to receive matching gifts from your employer.
     
  3. Complete the donor section of the form and submit it, along with your cheque or credit card authorization, to:

Matching Gift request forms can be sent separately from donation, but cannot be completed until your donation has been verified.

That's it! We will verify receipt and return the form to your company for matching funds on your behalf. The company will then send its matching donation directly to Oxfam Canada.
