Oxfam Canada supports long-term development, advocacy and emergency programs in many countries around the world. Our core programs are located in the Americas, the Horn of Africa, Southern Africa and South Asia.

Horn and East Africa

Oxfam Canada works with partners in East Africa and the Horn to identify and confront the region's emerging challenges.

Pakistan

Oxfam Canada is active in Pakistani communities affected by natural disasters. Oxfam programs are strengthening health, education and essential services in the affected region, with special attention being paid to the inclusion of women and girls. 

South Asia

Oxfam continues to help rehabilitate communities struck by the 2004 tsunami and participates in initiatives that help women play an active role in the area's future.

Oxfam in Southeast Asia

Oxfam’s featured project in Southeast Asia is Restoring Coastal Livelihoods. Operating over five years (2010-2015), the project is designed to improve economic security and women’s rights in 60 villages on the west coast of South Sulawesi province, Indonesia.

Southern Africa

Oxfam Canada works in Southern Africa to improve infrastructure, health and education. Human Rights are of special concern, with Oxfam programs encouraging leadership and self sufficiency among women in the region.

The Americas

Oxfam Canada's program in the Americas focuses on women's rights and gender equality. In the past 5 years, Oxfam Canada has invested close to $4 million in Central America supporting more than 40 partners in Cuba, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador.
