Where We Work

Oxfam Canada supports long-term development, advocacy and emergency programs in 28 countries around the world. Our core programs are located in the Americas, the Horn of Africa, Southern Africa, and South Asia.

Horn and East Africa

Oxfam works with communities and households (particularly households headed by single-mother) to increase access to secure and sustainable sources of food and livelihood. Initiatives include increased access to credit, environmental rehabilitation and improving community access to water, health care, education and training.

Southern Africa

Oxfam Canada is working with partners in Southern Africa to identify and confront the region’s emerging challenges

Pakistan

South Asia

On Sunday, December 26, 2004 a magnitude 9.0 earthquake occurred off the north-west coast of Sumatra in Indonesia. It unleashed a devastating tsunami that traveled thousands of kilometers across the Indian Ocean, taking with it more than 230,000 lives and millions of homes and livelihoods.
