Northern Pakistan has been affected by the worst floods in decades. Oxfam has helped more than 350,000 people so far, by providing clean water, sanitation, cooked food and other emergency supplies.

Almost 10 million people across West Africa are facing a food crisis following erratic rains that have caused poor food harvests and water shortages.

A major earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince, on Tuesday 12 January, causing catastrophic destruction across the city of two million people in the western hemisphere's most impoverished nation.
