On International Women’s Day, March 8, organizations in Ottawa are, once again, coming to celebrating, and hosting “I am a feminist, but…” a fourth-annual version of “I’m not a feminist, but” which launched in 2009.

Location: Library and Archives Canada auditorium
This year’s event will feature a talk show style panel discussing the feminist year in review. This free public event will be held at the Library and Archives Canada auditorium and is hosted by Amnesty International Canada, Canadian Federation of University Women, Canadian Union of Postal Workers, InterPares, MATCH Canada, Nobel Women’s Initiative, Oxfam Canada, Planned Parenthood Ottawa and the World University Service of Canada.
The event will cover local, national and international women’s rights issues and reflect over 100 years of achievements and will feature feminist artists, a short film, and the Fourth Annual Femmy Awards, which recognize the contributions of local women activists in the National Capital region.
