See bottom for candidate profile links.

Dear Oxfam Canada Member,

All persons who have become Oxfam Canada Members on or before February 8, 2010 are eligible to vote for the incoming 2010-2013 Board of Directors. The National Elections Committee (NEC) encourages all Members to vote. All voters are encouraged to review the Board of Directors information and candidate profiles on the Oxfam Canada website. Your thoughtful voting will elect a Board that will provide the skilled and ethical leadership essential to helping Oxfam Canada build lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.

Voting opens March 1, 2010 and closes on May 11, 2010. Results will be posted in Regional Offices and at: http://www.oxfam.ca/members-area/board-2010-2013-elections by May 14, 2010. Electronic balloting information will be e-mailed at 9:00am on March 1.

  • Every voter can vote for up to five (5) At Large Directors. Oxfam Canada’s By-Law provides that not more than two (2) of the At Large Directors shall be from the same Region.
  • Members who have identified themselves as 29 years of age or younger can also vote for the Youth Director (one position).
  • For this particular Board term (2010 – 2013), all five (5) Regional Directors have been acclaimed.

To help you make informed choices, all candidates were asked to provide short statements outlining how their own values are aligned with Oxfam Canada and ideas for how Oxfam Canada can increase its impact. Candidates were also asked to outline their relevant experience, provide a résumé and a photo.

You are encouraged to review the profiles of these committed Oxfam Canada members who are volunteering to serve on the Board of Directors (below). We encourage you to save the environment by viewing these resources electronically on our website rather than by printing them off.

You are also encouraged to review the Board of Directors Job Description posted on our website to gain an understanding of the role and its responsibilities.

Please contact Sarah Lyons, Executive Assistant at (613) 237-5236 or sarahl@oxfam.ca for questions relating to the election process or helpdesk@everyonecounts.com for technical assistance with your electronic ballot.
