Food Price Pressure Points - An Oxfam interactive map
Food prices have reached record heights in 2011 sending tens of millions of people into poverty and making it harder for many poor families to have enough to eat. Women and girls, who already represent over 60% of those going hungry throughout the world, tend to be disproportionately affected by rising food prices because of deep-rooted gender discrimination. In times of food shortages, women often eat last, least and lesser quality food. This map helps show how food prices are impacting many of the most vulnerable countries in the world.
