Jennifer Taylor is a female food hero because of the amazing variety of food-related community contributions that she makes on PEI. Jennifer is a award-winning leader in the community and works with others to promote access to healthy food. She is a strong proponent of local food and of ensuring local producers are part of the solution to provide local healthy food for all. Examples are:  * Faculty member at UPEI in the Department of Family and Nutritional Sciences since 1986-87, researching school nutrition & the determinants of healthy eating in children/youth. * Founding member & President of the PEI Healthy Eating Alliance * Studying what Islanders eat led to the establishment of breakfast programs in Island schools.  * Her research project, SNAP investigates whether school nutrition policies impact childhood obesity * Her work with low income people on food skills food preparation
