Title: Information Technology Assistant
Location: Ottawa, ON
Status: 21 hours/week, minimum 3 months

Purpose
Reporting to the IT Systems Administrator, this internship will support the operation of Oxfam Canada’s information systems and enterprise resource planning systems (ERP). This internship is well suited for IT/IS students at the end of their studies or recently graduated who are looking for practical work experience on a voluntary basis.

Working under the supervision of Oxfam Canada’s Policy Advisor, the intern will contribute to a research project on women’s rights, resilience and food security. The intern will conduct a literature review and background research on gender and resilience; will be involved in data analysis and the drafting of a research paper on women’s rights organizations’ approaches to resilience; and will support the organizing of a 2-day policy event on the subject.

Working under the supervision of Oxfam Canada’s Policy Advisor, the intern will conduct research on the status of women and gender equality in Oxfam Canada’s priority countries of programming. The intern will contribute to identifying reliable sources of information, statistics and analysis; gathering data on a number of countries; and drafting analytical reports. The research will primarily be internet-based, with some library work and correspondence/interviews.
