Oxfam Groups
Oxfam community and campus groups are a force for change, and are important partners ensuring that Oxfam’s work is brought to life across Canada, from coast to coast to coast. Collective action among hundreds of volunteers actively engaged in Oxfam campaigns allows us to engage a wide spectrum of Canadians from different regions, ages, and ethnic, racial and social backgrounds.
Oxfam Canada’s community and campus groups help to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. Specifically, community and campus groups are:
- Fundraisers – Be it in response to humanitarian crises or in promotion of Oxfam’s Unwrapped program, groups raise thousands of dollars for Oxfam Canada’s work
- Campaigners – Oxfam groups work to plan and execute national awareness-building campaign activities focusing on GROW.
- Organizers – Groups create effective change in their communities by educating and inspiring others to act, and partner with other local organizations to maximize their voice and influence
